Ripples and buckling are the most common carpet complaint we get, and they're almost always a stretching problem, not a carpet problem. Over years of humidity, furniture drag, and foot traffic, carpet relaxes and loosens from the tack strip. Power restretching pulls it tight again in a few hours and costs a small fraction of new carpet.
Localized damage, such as a burn from an iron, a pet accident that went through to the pad, or a tear at a doorway, is a patching job. We cut out the damaged section and set in a matching piece from a closet or remnant. Done well, a patch is hard to find even when you know where to look.
Replacement makes sense when the wear is everywhere: matted traffic lanes that don't fluff back after cleaning, a pad that has broken down, seams separating in several rooms, or odors that survive extraction because they've soaked into the subfloor. At that point, repairs are money spent on carpet that's finished.
Because we clean, repair, and install carpet, we don't have a reason to push you toward the most expensive option. Send us a photo or book a free look, and we'll tell you honestly which of the three your floor actually needs.
